A:  Curb mounted skylights rough opening is the actual hole in the roof and the inside dimension of the curb. With that said most installers will put finished material up against the inside curb which will obstruct some visible glass generally another inch. A:  All standard VELUX FCM units come with a Low-E 3 glass which has a slight tint. The exterior is tempered so palm branches that light should NOT pose any issues. Heavy branches could potentially cause damage. Excellent question thank you.

A:  If you select a VELUX curb mounted skylight, your roofer or installer will need to fabricate their own flashing onsite. (VELUX does not manufacture a metal roof flashing kit for our curb mounted series) If you were to choose a deck mounted skylight, we do have a have flashing system tailored to standing seam metal roofing material.
