A:  We offer shades for our skylights to help with light control. If you order a skylight with a preinstalled solar shade, you will qualify for a 30% solar tax credit on the product and installation.

A:  The actual pan or flashing extends 3 1/2" from the outside of the frame. The hole for the #8x 1 3/4" stainless steel screw is 1/2" inch inside. We appreciate your question. A:  VELUX Self flashed units have a one piece flashing preinstalled on the unit. Thanks for your question.

A:  You will want to choose the QPF 2222 2006 with Impact Rated glass. It has Florida Product Approval Number of 13300. Cycle Pressure is +50/-50 WIND ZONE 3 & Missile Level C. One thing to note: According to the state of Florida, both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties must also recognize products listed on the Florida Product Approval website. If it is stated that only Miami-Dade NOA listed product are to be used, they must explain their rationale, because Florida allows any product listed on the Florida Product Approval website to be “considered” for possible use anywhere in Florida. There is a caveat: Just because a product is listed on the Florida Product Approval website does not mean it meets the minimum performance requirements in that part of Florida or for the project. Meaning- the skylight or sun tunnel may be HVHZ approved and have a Cycle Pressure rating of +/-50 PSF, but the project spec might require a +/-60 Cycle Pressure rating or might require a stronger design pressure. As with all building products, please check with your local building code official for product acceptance.

A:  QPF 2222 2004D uses a rough opening of 22 1/2 x 22 1/2 inches whereas the QPF 4646 2004D uses a rough opening of 46 1/2 x 46 1/2 inches.
