A:  If you are placing the FS 306 model skylight on your home, you will need the previous generation flashing kit called: EDL 308 0000A. This kit fits FS 302, 304, 306 & 308 models skylights with a shingle roof system.

A:  In most cases, you will want to choose a curb mounted skylight with Impact Rated glass for those HVHZ areas. One thing to keep in mind: According to the state of Florida, both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties must also recognize products listed on the Florida Product Approval website. If it is stated that only Miami-Dade NOA listed product are to be used, they must explain their rationale, because Florida allows any product listed on the Florida Product Approval website to be “considered” for possible use anywhere in Florida. There is a caveat: Just because a product is listed on the Florida Product Approval website does not mean it meets the minimum performance requirements in that part of Florida or for the project. Meaning- the skylight or sun tunnel may be HVHZ approved and have a Cycle Pressure rating of +/-50 PSF, but the project spec might require a +/-60 Cycle Pressure rating or might require a stronger design pressure. As with all building products, please check with your local building code official for product acceptance.
