Q:I see that the overflow slot is on the inside of the bathtub. My question is: is the overflow built integrally into the body of the bathtub and goes down to the drain assembly (no visible piping needed) or is a visible waste pipe needed to attached to the backside of the tub (attaching to the overflow slot) and go down the outside of the tub and connect to the drain assembly? I have seen both types in bathtubs like this so I need to make sure which it is for my plumber.

Answer This Question

A:  I got this bathtub. It's extremely heavy. In the case it comes in, it's over 400lbs. The shipping company only brings it to your driveway. You have to be there to accept the package and find a way to get inside (or up a flight of stairs as I did). The overflow slot is indead incorporated into this bathtub. There is no visible waste pipe needed extra. You MUST have access to underneath this bathtub in order to install it. For example, the bathroom I put this bathtub in is above my kitchen. We had to remove the drywall ceiling in the kitchen in order for the plumbers to attach the drain to the bathtub. The drain in the tub is in the middle of the tub and comes out the bottom of the tub. Then you must attach the drain in the floor to the drain coming out the bottom of the bathtub by actually male screwing into the bottom of the bathtub. It's a huge bathtub. So beautiful. Very substantial. Not like an acrylic tub. It's matte and beautiful.

Q:Does this product have an integrated overflow drain, or do I need to purchase an overflow/drain assembly to attach to the outside of the tub? If it does have an integrated overflow drain, what are the installation dimensions from the side of the tub to the center drain on the floor of the tub?
