A:  Yes they let air in just fine. No one using for double doors as the door is essentially a pre hung door. The latch is in the steel frame.

The Solstice is not available in a double door configuration however we do offer the Solana which is similar in style. It can be viewed on homedepot.com using internet id# 206743599. A:  I don't see how as you would have to cut through the metal of the door and screen

A:  If you were to add a mail slot, it would likely require the skills of a welding professional. To add it without disturbing the beautiful pattern, the slot would need to be placed vertically adjacent to the handle. This would require cutting into the panel of the door and the mesh metal screen behind it. It would likely result in having to repaint that area when the welding work was finished.
