Q:I plan to cap my shower curb with cultured marble which recommends using silicone for attachment. Can silicone work directly on the Durock or do I need to attach a backer board to the Durock first with thin set mortar and then attach the marble to that?

    A:  Rosapete Durock Shower System curbs are strong enough to support glass doors. They can accept anchoring, which would also supplement the attachment to the walls on the side. Thanks for choosing USG.

          Q:My fiberglass stall shower curb is only 2" height from inside, outside 3" height. We use shower liner, not using glass door. We want to make a shower curb higher, about 6 inches. Can I attached this Durock curb to existing curb by glue, silicon or whatever ? Linh

            A:  Thank you for your question. The Durock Shower System Curb is 48" long. If your shower pan is 60" long the Shower Kit will include two 48" curbs that can be cut and placed end to end to equal 60".
