Q:would I be able to use this in my 1959 GM coach for the drivetrain to start the engine it requires two batteries 8D batteries

Answer This Question

A:  These are sealed lead acid 4D batteries not 8D. Our 4D batteries are 200 Ah while our 8D are 250 Ah. These batteries are not officially rated in CCA but according to a Midtronics tester there would be a drop off from 1235 CCA +/- 15% from an 8D to 890 CCA +/-15% with the 4D.

Q:would this besuitable for a one man pontoon boat w/30 lb. thrust motor?
by|Mar 16, 2016
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  A small light boat it can be used in to get in tight locations. I would not run it wide open for prolonged periods of time on large bodies of water. Most 30 lb trolling motors pull about 30 amps Max and that could leave you with about 30 minutes of use but at slower speeds and using it for manavering the boat side to side it should last several hours per charge. If this is for a large body of water where this is going to be the main mode of propulsion I would move up to a larger battery. In many cases this would to well with a small light one man pontoon.

Q:Ideally I would like to purchase a Exide marine stoyaway battery (24msxst). Can you supply and price this one?

Answer This Question

A:  This is suitable for marine use.

by|May 3, 2023

A:  It can be used in marine and it is a sealed battery. This is a U-1 sized battery that often get used in powering fish finders and very small single man boats who wish to use a small trolling motor. U-1 are usually used in wheelchairs and mobility or starting mid sized lawnmowers. It is much smaller and would be less powerful than a group 24 sized battery that you have compared it to.
