Q:Can this be used to build a water proof tent (4 seperate walls and a seperated roof) ?
by|Jul 29, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: It would make a good envelope for your tent. The butyl lining is waterproof, but it's not UV-proof and isn't rated for exposure to high temperature: it will break down over time if left exposed to direct sunlight. But if you're doing it just for a few days, you should be fine.

Q:When used outdoors, is the canvas side to the inside or the outside for waterproof protection? How long will it last when exposed to sun/weather?

1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The canvas always faces outward, toward you and your work; the butyl lining should always face the surface you're trying to protect.
It will last a very long time if you: (1) wash it very infrequently and (2) keep the butyl lining out of direct sunlight.
