A: I utilized leftover material from the trough. Roll it up and allow enough thickness for a downspout screw to hold it to the existing spout. Allow enough clearance for water to pass during a heavy rain.

A: Hi there,
What we would suggest is to use a house gutter downspout, cut to length, put it up onto our Downspout and put a self-tapping screw thru it. Here's out installation guide. Check out page 10 figure 8C for a visual on how to do it. https://trexrainescape.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/TrexRainEscape-installation-guide-US-7-22-2022.pdf

Q:Can the downspout be squeezed into a 9? on center gap? I have spacings of 9?, 10?, 13? and 16?.

A: Thank you for your question. Yes, it can be adapted to fit into spacings from 9" OC to 16" OC (on center). Our installation guide section that covers this is called "modified downspouts." You simply cut out the front of the downspout as normal, then cut a vertical slice 1/2 way down the back side. Compress the downspout into the opening, staple into place and cover the seam of the cut with our 4 inch tape. It is a very simple modification to complete, although no modification is needed for 12 or 16 inch OC spacings. The downspout is designed to fit those openings as they are standard deck spacings. Any other questions, feel free to reach out to us and let us know. Thank you again for the great question.

Q:What is the difference between this one and the black one? (beside the price)

Answer This Question
A: Both products are identical and the only difference is the color. The black sometimes cost more because we don't buy the volume of plastic in black as we do in brown.

A: Hello Ellie,
Its really hard to get an exact number of pieces without having some basic dimensions of the project. If you would like to email us plans we would be happy to get you a material list. Please send the information to info@trexrainescape.com.
To give you an idea of how much the system cost, it runs about $6.00-$6.50 per square foot.
Thank you

A: You would need one of these for each space between your joists of the deck. They are usually 12 or 16 inch on center and if you can see under your deck you can count how many spaces there are and this is how many you would need. There are plenty of youtube video's that will give an idea of how it is done.

A: Thank you for the question and observation, Bobby.
Our product is designed as a system to create a completely watertight area under a raised deck for lounging, recreation, or storage. Installed per our installation guide will insure this. Many people have purchase parts of our system for other uses. In parts of the country where water in basements is a problem, many have installed our system on knee high decks to get the water away from the house. They benefit from controlling the water and helping their deck joists last longer. If you wish to use our product off label for a creative solution, many do so. If you are not concerned about water leaks from areas of your installation, that is up to you. Let us know if you need further information or assistance at info@trexrainescape.com.
