Q:Is this just one piece of 42x60 flashing? If it is "designed" for a 42x60" shower pan, then which side of the pan is it for?

A:  twcarlson - Your best off purchasing the flashing kit. ( 3 pcs. ) Two 42" and a 60". One 42" is for the water wall. Mine is a 42" x 60" with a 12" seat or 42" x 72". You'll probably have to cut the inside corners to get a nice fit. The short edge facing down. Use clear silicone on the corners. Flashing gets nailed into studs as needed. When you pick your floor tile, consider your drain. Square or round. I mounted my pan on cement board so as not to destroy the sub floor. I troweled mortar, 3/4" along the edges and narrowed it as I came toward the drain. Once you set your pan in place ( making sure you have your 2" CPVC installed & taped up ) no bugs this way. Then level it out with a 4' level tapping the pan down into the bed of mortar. Let it dry for 2-3 days and don't step on it. This will eliminate any weak spot under the pan. If you are tiling and contacting the pan you need their product. Work fast, 40 - 45 minutes & you most likely need extra. Do your tile layout first. I am not a pro, just a "Happy Home Owner". DIYer you could say. The best thing I can tell you is to familiarize yourself with each step. Have a plan. I can only hope this information will help you.

A:  The Tile Redi Flashing Kit is made up of three pieces. One 60" & two 42". Attach to studs with a coated roofing nail and some silicone behind it. Your wall board will hold everything in place once installed. Short side down. Done.

A:  A 1" roofing type nail is fine. Screws tend to distort the metal.
