Q:will it damage the sink if you put boiling water in the sink?

    Answer This Question

A:  No it will not damage the sink but do not use or put harsh chemicals on sink

A:  It will if you are draining something and using a colander, e.g., draining pasta with a colander in the sink - the base of the colander will leave a deep scar/scars in the finish.

A:  NO, boiling water has been put in my sink many times with no damage. However putting a hot pot in the sink after boiling water will damage the appearance of the sink. I am on my 3rd sink now with one more backup , they mark up very easy, if you have not bought an acrylic yet DON'T!! go with stainless or a granite look, the high shine looks nice but not for long, my custom counter is granite so I have to use the same shape sink.

A:  That is a tough question oddly enough. Boiling water may gradually soften it and allowed it to scratch and fade easier. We are on our second one because the first one scratched and faded. It is had to find as you maybe finding out a sink that is black for a reasonable price. We got 5 years out of the first one. It is a beautiful sink. When we first put it in both times we love it. Matches everything we have. So to answer the question as I know how too would be a maybe?

              Answer This Question

A:  The soap pump would've been bought as a separate unit from the sink, we only manufacture the sink.

A:  I wish i could say yes, but i can't. I have a black one and called everyone under the sun that had any thing to due with sinks. No one makes a rack for this product.

A:  I bought a few of these at Amazon. "Adjustable Over Sink Dish Drainer (White) (5"H x 12"W x 17.5"D)". They fit over the left side of the Breckenridge model.

Q:The black just did not hold up. Our granite tops were cut for this sink and I wanted to see if you make this sink stainless or something that holds up better. Also see others are having the same problem with the black even with a lifetime waranty.

                    Answer This Question

A:  Remember that this is an acrylic sink product and requires special care. Our own sink has been installed for a year now and looks great. It requires the use of sink protectors in the wells and needs to be cleaned per the manufacturer's instructions regularly. We noted many complaints about the lack of durability in the product but we also know that many people use their kitchen sinks like a catcher's mitt. Taking less care by tossing pots, pans and silverware into these sinks without protectors will make short work of the finish. If you want the look, you have to make concessions about how you generally use it by comparison to a stainless steel kitchen sink product.

We suggest that you contact the manufacturer, International Thermocast Corporation, at 678-445-2022 for more assistance. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

A:  We had the same issues with ours. The offset as you stated make it really difficult to buy another without having to re work everything underneath. Not sure which would be cheaper to do though?

A:  I just typed my review of this same exact sink. And our time frames of purchase were in the same.. Being your post was put out there a year ago and your saying the sink was 2 yrs old... In my post minutes ago I mentioned that my sink was 3 yrs old. My sink was more or less scratched in a week...A month later it was as if the micro scratches were just showing up. After the first year there was nothing I could do to stop the dulling of the plastic surface. I only really used one sink basin to clean in, the other I used for cleaning vegetables and such... And still the sides and the bottom were dulling out more and more with use. It is now 3 yrs and I am replacing the sink because I have a leaky pipe below the sink... So being I have to take the drain pipes off I may as well get that dirty dull sink out of there.. I mean to say, it works, but its just dull. The bright shiny plastic from day one is long gone. Oh but hey.... that sink looked awesome the first day I brought it home and unpacked it... No other sink out there had that contoured edging on top... It really is a nice design.. It would be really nice to see that design in the black cast iron types.. But if so they would likely cost $500 and better for the difference in materials.

A:  Yes, we did as well but only after a few months. We bought a second one to replace it but were never able to find someone willing to replace it for fear of cracking our granite.
