Q:We have a bathroom floor that we want to put tile down instead of the carpet which is in there now. The dim 15 x 5 we are thinking about putting down heating under the tiles. I see that the ThermoSoft product is 15 x 36. Would that work okay if it is 5 ft wide? Also how does it connect to a power source? Does it plug into an outlet?

A:  No You can not. This is heat mat, it needs to be installed under the top layer of Hard floor - make sure that you do not have too many layers of insulation on top of it as heat mats are pretty gentle and do not generate lots of heat.

Q:Can this product be used outdoors, under cover? I have a set of concrete stairs leading to my building. There is a void space under the stairs. It is open to the air, but protected from precipitation. I'd like to mount an electric heater to the back of the stairs, so that when it snows, they stairs will be heated, and the snow will melt off. Will this work for this application?
