        Q:Need to slow water & stop sediment eroding off small vacant lot betw two new houses. The builder trespassed and beat down my weeds and it's now eroding. I see 3' fence around and it will be too obtrusive-2' will be fine, with 6" buried. Appropriate?

          A:  The intended purpose for silt fence is erosion sediment control. It may prevent some leaves from entering your yard but it has not been tested for this application.-Lynn
