A:  This kitchen cart is made in China.

A:  I would say no. You may be able to sand it down then paint it, but not certain that would work as it has a shiny gloss finish.

I suppose the cart can be assembled without the middle shelf, but we wouldn't recommend it as the stability of the cart will be compromised. The distance between shelves is exactly 12"--too bad your convection oven isn't just a little bit shorter! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions! Jane

A:  I would not recommend it, as it might compromise the quality and stability in the long run. It might also look funky, since the legs have cut-outs for the shelf to fit into.

A:  Yes I believe so, but it may not be as sturdy. The shelves help provide some level of structure.

A:  We have our microwave on the middle shelf. The cart never moves when we open and close the microwave door. I imagine the two solid legs keep the caster wheels in place unless you pick them up. The cart is very stable and does not wiggle.

A:  Hi Terri, thank you for your interest in TRINITY products! The towel rack that you're referring to is the Side Handle which can also be used as a towel rack. It can definitely be left off if you don't need to push the cart around. But do keep in mind that if you don't install the Side Handle, there are (2) holes which will be exposed. However, if you've got the Kitchen Cart pushed up against a wall on that side, then it won't matter! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions! Jane

A:  Yes, you can leave the rack off during assembly.

If you'll be placing any hot items on the Wood Top of the Kitchen Cart, we recommend that you use a trivet as the wood will warp if the temperature of the item(s) exceeds the threshold. A:  I wouldn't put anything hot directly on the top. I don't put anything hot directly on any counters.

A:  No, the top is not heat resistant.

A:  From wheel to wheel it's about 15 inches. I've found this to be a very useful cart, love it!
