A: This is Nate with Tekton. These are designed to cut bolts up to 1/4 inch thick. Most padlocks have a shackle that is thicker than 1/4 inch. It depends on the particular lock you are cutting, but for most common lock sizes I would recommend buying a larger bolt cutter, like a 30 inch or 36 inch option.

A: It takes a bit of effort to cut through the larger frame pieces on wire shelving but I have no problem with wire fencing. I am 65 years old size 10 if that helps. I do have good muscle tone though. Hope this helps.
