A: The Ultra Slim Safe Pool Alarm S189D requires three AAA batteries to operate.
A: 3 AAA batteries
A: They use (2) AAA batteries.
A: Yes, the Ultra Slim Safe Pool Alarm S189D can be used on most windows as well.
A: I will be using for window, I don't see why they wouldn't work on sliding glass doors
A: Yes on the doors. We've used the on both split and single sliders. We did have to drill the door frame and splice the wire for the access button to work.
A: yes I have them on my windows that face my pool
A: there are better, cheaper products for windows. look up Wireless Magnetic Safety Entry Door Window Alarm from HD. costs about $8 less and can save you considerably depending on how many doors and windows you need to alarm. easier to install as well
A: Yes, the Safe Pool Alarm S189D can be installed on windows.
A: I haven't installed it on windows but after installing it on my doors I think it could be installed on windows.
A: It uses screws to mount it, but you could probably use Velcro if you wanted. Works good so far.
A: I used the double stick tape that was included but I believe you can also mount with the screws that are included.
A: I used the double sided tape for install, which went very quickly. I knew I would be taking them down after I passed the final pool inspection. We don’t have kids, so safety isn’t a issue for us. I would used the screws if this is to be permanent.
A: I work for a swimming pool contractor and this type of alarm is required for on of our inspections before we can pebble and fill the pool with water. We stick them up with double sided tape. They are light weight and that holds them up well. For a more permanent situation they do come with screws if you prefer to wall mount. We use litterally hundreds of these. They’re easy to install. Work very well for child safety. Many of our clients do not like them for every day use as there is not an on and off switch. So if you where to open a door with an alarm on a nice day and you if the screen door alarm at sound therefore you have to take out a battery to be able to have the door Open Without the alarm going off
A: This pool alarm has mounting hardware.
A: yes it is UL approved
A: Yes, it is UL2017 Approved.
A: This S189D Model alarm has two pairs of contacts and an additional delay button. This Model has one hard wired contact and another optional plug-in contact. If both pairs of contacts are installed, then both contacts need to be "OPEN" for the alarm to sound. (The two pairs of contacts are designed for openings with a door and screen such as a sliding glass door with a screen door. If the door is open and screen is closed, the alarm will not sound. If both are open, then the alarm will sound.) If you do not install the optional pair of contacts, then the alarm will sound when the single pair of contacts are Open. (i.e., The system will interpret the optional pair of contacts as being "Open". ) If you do not want the optional contact and delay button, you can use the S189A Model. I have found that they are about the same price and the S189D is available at more places.
A: I would say it’s similar to a contact on an alarm on a house. On the alarm system there are two contacts when the magnetic force the separated the alarm goes off that’s what it’s intended for.
A: Not really. You can make one.
A: no, no pool alarm worth it's salt has an on off switch.
A: No, this alarm only has a Delay button. It will delay the alarm from 8 to 12 seconds. The purpose of this alarm is to monitor all activity so that a child cannot slip through the opening and be harmed such as drown in a pool. It is always armed so that there is continuous protection and complies with UL 2017.
A: No but You can easily remove the battery if you want
A: Yes easily
A: Yes, place the sensor so that the side that does not have a wire attached on the door and the side that has the wire connecting it to the alarm on the door frame. This would be better if it was wireless. The optional sensor is intended to be placed on the screen door if you have one. If that is installed, both sensors must be OPEN for the alarm to sound. If you do not install the optional sensor on the screen door, the alarm will sound when the door is opened.
A: Yes
