Q:The wall along the tub is 63" will it fit?
by|Jun 28, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: No this unit will not fit a 63" tub. A better option would be the WW-6000-010. It is designed to fit an area 30"- 48" deep x 60" - 72" wide. The walls can be cut using a circular saw with a 60-80 tooth carbide blade or a saber saw with a bi-metal blade (14 teeth per inch). Holes can easily be cut using a hole saw. A: The RM-58 is a fiberglass unit with a baked-on finish. Cutting the panels is not recommended because it will leave an exposed, unfinished edge.

Q:What is a rough labor estimate to remove existing surround and replace with this one?
by|Oct 28, 2015
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Unfortunately, we are unable to help with an estimated cost to remove and replace a tub wall kit. The many variables of location, choice of installer, substrate condition/type, etc. make this impossible for us to estimate. We would suggest reaching out to local installers in your area for project bids. The installation guide for the RM-58 can be found on homedepot.com in the "Info & Guides" section located next to the Product Overview bullet points. This may help your installer bid the installation portion of the project. Thank you for considering a Swan product for your home.

Q:can this be installed over ceramic tile?
by|Oct 14, 2015
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Yes, the RM-58 can be installed over existing tiles. Depending on the condition of the existing wall surface, additional silicone adhesive may be required to ensure contact between the substrate and the wall panel. Old ceramic tiles, if solidly adhered, do not need to be removed. All plastic tiles must be removed before installation. Any loose ceramic tiles must be removed or reattached. Old tiles and front edge ceramic tiles should be reset for appearance only. Any tile accessories must also be removed. Remove the bottom row of tile and cut a ventilation gap in the substrate. The surface must be dry, smooth and free of dust, soap scum or any other contaminates. If using a trim kit, old tiles may need to be removed to allow a proper fit.
