A:  You'll have to use self tapping screws or drill pilot holes in your door frame. It mounts in the corner of a door frame with either 2 or 4 screws. It comes with a template to help with installation.

A:  Hello, We are in Iowa and the average electricity cost was 10.79 cents per kilowatt in January 2017. Based on that cost and if the fan is run 12 hours a day it would be an additional $0.025 (2.5 cents) per day. The fan is rated at 20 watts. You can plug that number into online electricity bill calculators found online. You can also put your electricity cost in to get your specific cost. A:  We considered this also, but considering it's reasonable price and how long we owned it before it broke (which BTW, was due to us dropping it!), it was soooo easy to order it online and pick it up at my local store.

A:  Too bad it's not reversible with the switch. Running a cord to a doorway is tricky and can't always be done from both sides. Not to mention it's nice to hide the cord under guides. Having to move it every time we want to change the airflow makes it difficult to use. Hoping one day this will be addressed in future models.

A:  Hello, The airflow is reversible by the way the unit is installed not by the fan motors rotation. There are sets of keyhole slots on the flat side of the EntréeAir that can be used to mount the fan for airflow in either direction. The fan would be mounted in either the top left or top right of the doorway for the airflow you desire. A:  The direction of air flow is dependent on the mounting direction. You would have to flip it over to change the air flow direction. This also causes the power cord to move from top to bottom or vice versa.

A:  You cannot change the direction by flipping a switch, but it can be installed facing either direction.

A:  Thank you all for your responses. There's a definite design flaw in the lack of reversability of the fan (without uninstalling and re-installing the fan) and that the cord is connected at one end and not the center (with a groove along both sides to tuck it into). This fan is a nice idea but lacks basic fan features.

A:  What size room and size doorway will this fan actually show a difference in ?

A:  No, this is not waterproof and cannot be placed outside.

A:  I would say no. The fan motor is fully exposed and not water proofed.

A:  No I dont believe they are. There ment for moving hot air from room to room. I did find them too loud so Im moving them outside as exhaust fans in my grill room. They wont be in any direct weather just humidity. The fan blades are plastic so that wont be an issue.
