A: It snaps on so it does take a bit of an effort to get it off, but not much. I suppose you could just not snap it back on if you wanted it to be super easy.
A: lid comes off, center comes out.
A: Hello Judy, Yes, the lid does come off easily. You simply need to unsnap the lid from the barrel.
A: yes and no. Each side has 2 small clips so it is fairly easy to remove the lid, or just take out the center!
A: The whole lid doesn't just lift straight off. Each of the four sides of the lid has two little tabs that hold the lid onto the barrel. You have to pull out on the rim of the lid and work your way around the rim to release the grip of the tabs to get the lid free. It's not that hard to do but that's what it takes. I think it's a safety feature to keep little kids out. If your bucket is small enough though, you could just lift the grill section in the center of the lid straight off and dip through that, assuming the end of your down spout leaves enough clearance. The grill section is not held in place by tabs so it just lifts off.
A: The screen and cover come off easily, but you cannot dip a bucket or any container in the top, as there's a cross-brace molded into the top.
A: pretty easy, the lid just snaps on.
