        Q:What is the difference in this door and a fire rated door. Can I use this this door going into the garage from the house?

        A:  A fire rated door comes in 20-40-60 minutes. So a 20 minutes fire-rated steel door frame and hinges provide a safety barrier from fire and smoke for up to 20 min. This door will not work, but you can visit your local Home Depot and they can find a door like this one above that will be fire rated.

                Q:Are the hing pins removable on the outswing door?

                A:  Yes they are, here is how to do it. Open you door, and on look at the inside of hinge, you should see a small screw. The size should be 3/32, but could be 1/8. Use an allen wrench and you will be able to take pins out of hinge. Please call our customer service team and they will be happy to assist you further. M-F; 8am-5pm CST; 1-800-617-8586.
