Q:Can this door be used for an outdoor sauna door?
by|Feb 23, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: It is generally not recommended to use a fiberglass door for a sauna room. This is because fiberglass can release harmful chemicals when exposed to constant high temperatures, which can be dangerous to your health when you are using the sauna.
Instead, it is recommended to use a door made from a heat-resistant material, such as wood or tempered glass, that can withstand the high temperatures and humidity levels typically found in a sauna room. In addition to being safe, a properly designed sauna door will also help to keep heat and steam inside the sauna room, creating a more effective and enjoyable sauna experience.

A: Paint within 45 days of installation using only an exterior grade, light color acrylic latex paint. An exterior grade finish coat or sealer must be applied if stained. CAUTION - Painting this frame a dark color and/or installing behind a storm door can cause heat damage not covered by the warranty. 1. For increased paint adhesion use adhesion promoting primer made for use with polypropylene. Available from ODL in spray cans; use part number 17061000.2. Finish with an exterior grade acrylic latex paint. CAUTION - Apply paint in a well-ventilated area and follow all paint manufacturer’s cautions, warnings and instructions. Other acceptable primers available through national distributors can be used; look for plastic adhesion promoters.
