Q:How many inches above the top of the toilet should the bottom of the cabinet be?

Answer This Question

A:  It's up to you the installer. I placed mine in the vertical centerline of the mirror adjacent to it. It's shallow enough that you're not going to hit your head so it's really up to where it's easily accessible and that it looks right in proportion to the things around it. Hope that helps.

A:  Mike, Thank you for your inquiry. We can confirm that we do not manufacture the Providence 20 in. Over John cabinet with a “Shaker” style door. The closest option we have for you would be the Glacier Bay 20.5 in. Del Mar Over John cabinet in White. You may find the Del Mar Over John cabinet by visiting the Home Depot website and running a search for Model # DMOJ21COM-W / Internet # 203206310, you will be taken directly to the product page. A:  It is wood on the back. About 1/4"

A:  My cabinet is mounted to the wall now, so I cannot really tell what the back is made of, although it is thin. However, across the back at the top is a thick extra board around 2 1/4 " wide to provide a good solid support surface for using screws to mount the cabinet to the wall. Using that, my cabinet seems very secure, since that board provided good flexibility to put screws directly into wood studs rather than flimsy plastic wall anchors.

A:  The back of the cabinet is not finished.

                  by|May 3, 2023

A:  The one that I have not only has a back, but also has an extra board in back across the top to facilitate mounting on the wall in a sturdy and secure way. I am really pleased with this cabinet because it seems quite strong and well-built. It is a bit heavy, though, so mounting it may take 2 people. Make sure you mount into solid wood studs rather than trusting flimsy wallboard anchors that might pull out.

A:  Mine came with short and long screws. Go to HomeDepot and find an equivalent thread size and a screw that is long enough if the screws they sent you don't work. That stinks and I'm sorry that happened.

A:  Not really designed to sit on a counter top. It looks really good mounted on the wall above the toilet. The one that i chose is only 20 inches wide, 26 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep, but it holds all of my essentials.

A:  The issue was for a clasp that was received damaged. I contacted the manufacturer as it said in the instructions. The manufacturer customer support was non existent and also non cooperative. They wanted me to ship the part back to them and they would determine if it was their problem or the shipping company (UPS) problem. I went to my local Home Depot and found the replacement part cost $1.03. The customer service rep at Home Depot apologized, gave me the part and said don't call any manufacturer when you buy from Home Depot - let them handle the problem. I am very satisfied with Home Depot. The cabinet looks good and goes up easy. Just don't expect any support from the manufacturer unless you are fluent in Chinesse.

A:  You have to use your own wall anchors and locate a 2 x 4 behind the wall to anchor the cabinet. It is to heavy to anchor in dry wall.

A:  The board at the top along the back provides a solid area for screws to mount the cabinet. Just make sure you screw into solid wood studs. This cabinet is sturdy but heavy, and I would not trust mounting it into flimsy wallboard anchors.

A:  If you find one stud behind where the cabinet is going to be hung, (use a stud finder), use two longer wood or metal screws (2 1/2"-3") and mark one just below the inside of the cabinet top and one just above the cabinet bottom where the wood is thicker; inline with where the stud is. Make sure cabinet is level when marking holes. (note. leave enough room from the edge of the inside cab top and bottom for a drill to be used in final installation.) Determine the vertical distance and mark the holes on the wall where the stud is. Drill larger through holes in cabinet and a smaller pilot holes in the wall. Pre-sink the wood screws in the wall to the right depth and this will make the final sinking of the screws easier once the cab is in place. Sink screws while someone holds the cab in place. Use a drill to do this and it will be much easier. Two screws is all you need if they are both in the stud. If you can't find a stud you'll need to use drywall anchors and again, two screws should be enough.

A:  find at least one stud behind it and drill a hole top and bottom to mount for strenght. Use at least 2 1/2 inch screws. Other screws can be normal sheet rock mounts so you have a total of 4 screws holding it up. two people makes it easier but you can use something to prop it up before mounting.
