A: No, THHN insulated wire is NOT rated for outside exposure to the weather. For starters, ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun will (in as little as a year) DESTROY the outer nylon insulation coating of the wire. "USE-2" or "PV Wire" ARE rated for this use, however, provided you ensure adherence to their ratings of temperature versus de-rated current-carrying capacity, for example.

A: This is suitable maybe a bit overkill for a 70 amp sub actual. The required ground wire would be #8.

A: No, this is 6 gauge wire, which is more suitable for 50-55 amps. For 70, you want 4 gauge.

A: Yes. 6AWG is rated for 55 Amps @ 70C and 75 Amps @ 90C.
