A:  good question. First, and foremost, this is not "old stock." There are two options in the world of electric fireplaces: 1) a conventional heating element; and 2) an infrared heating element. The difference(s)? Conventional is a less money and heats a smaller space. Infrared is more money and heats a larger space. Conventional heating elements still remain the industry standard and provide supplemental heat to most room sizes. Infrared heating elements are new and for those who must have the newest technology, and are willing to pay more money, they are available in many of our fireplaces.

A:  there is a triangular piece hinged to the back of the fireplace. Leave the hinged piece down and you can position the fireplace against a straight wall. Lift the hinged piece up and you can position the fireplace in a corner. It's convertible! Enjoy.
