    A:  The only light I see through them comes from the top and I think that has more to do with my shade. These curtains are great for keeping a room dark when they are closed completely.

    A:  No it's not, I have these in my living room with north facing windows and the light comes through the curtain. Now, it does block some light and heat but it's not total block out, which sucks.
