Answer This Question
A: Unfortunately, we do not recommend that. Even if a heat prevented the water from freezing the fountain would still be exposed to freezing temps, snow and ice around it which could cause cracks that would not be covered under warranty. -SLHG

Q:If the water dries up, does the automatically pump shut off, or is there a possibility in this case that the pump would run without water and burn up?

A: yes

A: Hi Pinkie - it is a brushless pump so if it does run dry, it will not burn out the motor. We don’t recommend leaving it for extended period it may run dry so you should remove it if plan to be away for example as it does not have an auto shut off. In normal course though you should not have to worry about it for a short time running dry. - SLHG
