A: Typical name brand alkaline batteries should last about a month when on the timer setting. We recommend buying rechargeable batteries so that you can recharge them to save money instead of buying new batteries. -SLHG

A: I use good batteries, don’t know if that makes a huge difference, I have some inside and outside and they usually last about 3-3 1/2 months. They’re wonderful lanterns.

Answer This Question
A: The candle is about 3"W x 7"H. There is about 1/2" of space between the candle and the glass, and about 1" of space in the corners so you might be able to add something small inside if you want. -SLHG

Q:We're looking for a few lights to hang on our porch in the summer that won't attract insects. This light appears to have a yellowish glow - would it repel insects, at least to some degree?

Answer This Question
A: Hello 4Katie, it won't repel insects, no, but it amber LEDs will definitely attract less bugs than white or other light bulb types that give off heat. If there are multiple light sources then studies have shown that 60-70% of insects are drawn to cool white light sources over amber lights. However, if your Amber LED Candle Lantern is the only light source around then insects, like us humans, won't be so that discerning about checking out the only light source. It may attract less insects that cooler white lights but there is no way to be sure based on your location and surroundings. -SLHG

A: I don't think it would repel insects or attract them. The light is a flickering amber light as well, as opposed to yellow. However, it is also not the kind of bright light that insects are attracted to. It is a soft and muted glow.
