Answer This Question
A: The STB2-50700 is zinc-plated which provides a low level of corrosion protection and can be used with limited treated woods in dry service. This anchor is also available in Type 304 stainless steel (STB2-507004SS) which provides a high level of corrosion protection and Type 316 stainless steel (STB2-507006SS) which provides a severe level of corrosion protection. Please see the following link to the Corrosion section of our website to determine the recommended finish based on your condition: https://www.strongtie.com/solutions/corrosion. Thank you!

Q:How deep does this need to be in the concrete? If I wanted to have 3 inches in concrete with 4 inches of threaded rod exposed, would that work?

A: To 'CommunityAnswer", are you sure it needs to be 6" deep into the concrete? Buying a 7" anchor, 6" deep in concrete, this leaves 1" above ground, barely fit the nuts and bolts, no room for material. It just doesn't make sense. I hope someone can give better answer.

Answer This Question
A: Capacities of these anchors depend on many field variables; the Engineer of Record will need to make the determination whether the Strong-Bolt 2 can be used in lieu of Hilti KB3. Thank you!
