A: Good Afternoon Josh,
I think your question is, "what is the sale quantity?" Correct? If so, it looks as though these are sold individually.
Thanks,

Q:Whats the best way to drill two straight and parallel holes so that the plates match up?

Answer This Question
A: The way that I was trained to do this is as follows:
1. First position the angle in the exact location needed and clamp tight with a C-clamp.
2. Next, take a black sharpie and trace the inside of both holes onto one side of the item to be drilled.
3. Next, remove the C-clamp and the angle.
4. Next, take a pointed punch and pound in a small indentation in the exact center of each traced hole.
5. Next, power drill a 1/8-inch drill bit through the item to be drilled at the punched indentation to create a pilot hole.
6. Next, get a drill bit the exact size of the existing holes in the angle and enlarge the pilot holes to full size.
This process will give you the precise location, size and spacing required for a proper structural connection. The pilot holes will make it easier to drill the larger holes through.

A: One way I’ve used is to start with a long, smaller drill bit and use a small speed square to line up. Go about 3/4 of the way thru (about 3 1/2” - 4” in your case and then come from the other side to join the holes. Then finish the hole with the appropriate sized bit.
Hope that helps.

Q:To hold a 6 x 10 oak beam in upright position on a 8"dia concrete pier is this the better choice?
A larger base bracket simply hangs over the pier edge.

A: It would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to specify the appropatie connector for the specific application based on framing layout, demand loads, local building codes, etc. Thank you!
