Q:Are these galvanized and made for use with green treated lumber?

A: The BP 1/2 has no coating, but can be ordered hot-dip galvanized (see BP 1/2HDG). The HDG finish provides a medium level of corrosion protection and can be used with some treated lumber. Please see the Corrosion section on the Simpson Strong-Tie website for complete information including what applications the medium level of corrosion protection is acceptable for. Thank you!

Q:can I use it with pressure treated wood?

A: The standard BP1 has no finish. It can however be ordered with the HDG (hot dip galvanized) finish which provides a medium level of corrosion protection and can be used in many applications with treated wood (but not all). Please see the Corrosion section of our website to determine the recommended finish for your specific application based on environment, type of treated wood being used, chemical retention, etc. Thank you!
