A:  I don't know where it was made but probably China. However it is heavy duty and much thicker than a typical blue tarp.

A:  I believe it is 11 mil thick. It is the thickest & strongest mil that I could find. It almost feels like canvas.

A:  The tarp was about 4 inches thick out of the package. After every step of unfolding it got thinner and thinner. Once completely unfolded I didn't measure the final thickness but according to the manufacturer: Tarp fabric thickness: 11 mil They seem reputable enough so I've no reason to measure this for myself.

A:  It's advertised as being 10 mil thick. I measured a section in the middle, not the edge where it's doubled over, and god 13 mil.

A:  Hi Sambo, yes, this tarp is heavy and strong enough to weather a rain storm. This tarp will keep out water and moisture. It is also UV resistant to sunlight. You can use either side of this tarp.I would however not use this tarp in a heavy snow storm or hurricane type winds.
