Q:I would like to install an Interlock Kit for a backup generator, 30 amp double pole. What is recommended to do this?
by|May 27, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: You will need the ECSBPK03 transfer interlock kit and a Q230 breaker. Please refer to the instructions link. The breaker will go in the 1 & 3 position for generator feed. You will lose use of the 2 & 4 positions because of the kit so four spaces will be lost overall. Note that filler plates cannot be used in the 2 & 4 positions so hopefully the dead front twist outs are still intact.

Q:is this panel could be bottom feed meaning invertable?, also do you this type of panel outdoor flush or semi flush?
by|Feb 6, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The outdoor (NEMA 3R) load centers are not invertible as there are guards to protect the interior against rain and other environmental debris. Inverting the interior only is not permitted as it would change the wire bending space in the gutters. There is sufficient room to bottom feed the conductors, though. Just ensure the bottom knockout configurations meet your conductor needs (see link). Semi-flush mounting is possible but the door will not allow full flush mount. There is no flush mount version or rail kit offered. The method of mounting and protecting the wall is up to the installer and subject to AHJ approval. Sem-flush mounting will not affect the N3R rating or any of the other ratings of the panel.

Q:Can this item be locked using a padlock?
by|Feb 4, 2020

Answer This Question
A: No, it cannot be locked using a padlock.
by|Feb 4, 2020
A: Yes. I've heard that original models couldn't be locked. The current models like these have a good locking feature in that the door slides up under the ridge to fully lock the top. In the lower right inside is a spring loaded padlock 'loop' that swings out and closes the bottom right and allows the standard padlock. All 4 corners are then locked.

Q:can 100 amp 2 pole breaker b installed as a feeder to an electric furnace

Answer This Question
A: YES- ANYTHING LARGER THAN 100 AMPS AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO INSTALL A LARGE FRAME BREAKER KIT AND BREAKER
by|Oct 3, 2019
A: 100 amps for an electric furnace sounds high. If it's that big a furnace I would use #2 stranded copper. You don't want your breaker to be bigger than your wire. I've used a 100 amp breaker for a sub panel for my garage.
by|Aug 14, 2019
A: Yes, a 2 pole 100A breaker can be installed in PW3040B1200CU. Consider Q2100P. As to whether it is the correct breaker for your furnace please consult with a licensed electrician.
