A: With all new piping systems there is a chance there could be a small odor or taste initially. This usually goes away within a few days.

A: SharkBite PEX is rated for the following:
160 PSI @ 73.4 F
100 PSI @ 180 F
80 PSI @ 200 F
The red, white, and blue PEX are the same pipe (except for color) and are rated for the same temperatures. In addition, SharkBite PEX has the following approvals:
ASTM F877-2011a, CSA B137.5-2009, and NSF/ANSI 65.
Your inspector should have no reason to not approve the PEX. If you look on your PEX piping, it will have the temperature and pressure ratings roll-marked down the pipe.
