      A:  Actually this is right and wrong... the slip piece is only compatible with copper, and the Tee portion IS compatible with multiple PEX types.

          Q:Does the slip end of this fitting have an internal stop to prevent the inserted pipe from blocking the tee's leg opening, when the fitting is inserted into the cut-out gap?

            A:  No, there's only one stop -- on the short side. You have to measure and cut to ensure you're not blocking the flow through the tee.

              Q:I need to connect a 3/4" sharkbite brass ball valve to the slip end of a 3/4" sharkbite brass slip tee and both together to the cut-out ends of an existing 3/4" copper pipe. How much copper pipe should I cut from the existing copper pipe and how long must I make the copper pipe piece between the ball valve and the slip tee? Also, in what sequence must I assemble the parts? I'm a DIYer having difficulty figuring this out. Thanks!

              A:  Hello, The SharkBite 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect Brass Slip Tee Fitting is 4.04" and the 3/4" SharkBite Ball Valve is 3.62". The insertion depth for each fitting is 1.13" on each side. I would have about 4' of pipe in between the two fittings in case you have to remove them in the future. The total amount of pipe to remove would be 8.36" of pipe. I would assemble the fittings first and then start with the SharkBite 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect Brass Slip Tee Fitting and then slide the SharkBite 3/4" Ball Valve onto the pipe.                 Q:Must water flow through the slip side of the tee in the direction of the fish symbol or does it not matter which way the tee is pointed?

                  Q:Which ports on this fitting are PEX compatible? Sharkbite says that the slip end is NOT. The description on the Home Depot website says that ALL ports are compatible with PEX and copper, with which I am concerned. If ALL ports are compatible with PEX, why is there not a stiffener insert in all the ports? Will a port without a stiffener insert leak? Thanks.

                  A:  The sharkBite slip joint does not have a Stiff Insert because it is a slip joint and will not work in that part of the joint. This Fitting is PEX compatible with support to solid framework in normal piping runs.

                  Q:I am adding a new water supply line to go to my fridge. My copper pipes are 3/4 inch. I bought a 3/4 inch slip tee fitting, but can’t find a 3/4 inch push to connect quarter turn angle valve. I could only find 1/2 inch angle valve. Do I need an adapter? I watched a sharkbite video, they put in the slip tee to connect the pipes, pushed the angle valve in the slip tee fitting, put the pex in the angle valve, and that was it.

                  A:  Hello, The SharkBite service slip tee is only available in the 1/2" size at this time. If you are working with SharkBite part # U3370LFA it will be necessary to install a small length of pipe into the branch of the tee. Part # U058LFA can be used to switch from 3/4" to 1/2" pipe and then a SharkBite angle stop valve can be used.
