A: No. It has a ball valve. So, very little chance of failure, but if it did, they are simple to remove and replace.

Q:From what I read, PEX 1/4" line is really 3/8" o.d (outside diamater). I am trying to connect to a reverse osmosis water filter spigot that has a 1/4" o.d. tubing push connect, and I want this straight stop valve to match the 1/4" o.d. tube. The text for this part did say 1/4 o.d. when I was scanning for the part, but does not say that explicitly on the item description.
Any confirmations on size? Thanks for any help

A: You are correct. 1/4" PEX has an OD of 3/8". If you are using a pipe with a 1/4" OD, you should use http://www.homedepot.com/p/SharkBite-1-2-in-Chrome-Plated-Brass-Push-to-Connect-x-1-4-in-O-D-Compression-Quarter-Turn-Straight-Stop-Valve-23337-0000LF/202721912?keyword=23337-0000lf
