Q:Is the connection box adjustable. We are replacing an old light strip and the connection box is off-center

Answer This Question
A: The wires should reach depending how far.
The rear panel was a pain to remove to get to the wires though. The directions were not very clear. Because of that, I would look around for a better light. The porcelain for the sockets can break.

A: the wall connection uses 2 anchors (one at each end), there is no box connection. There is plenty of space inside to connect wires no matter where your box is located.

A: Hello JackieStar, the sockets are rated for 8 Medium G25 100w Max bulbs. G25 is just the recommended shape. You can use any medium base bulb under 100 watts. Thank you for your interest in Sea Gull Lighting!

A: I always use 40W or 60W, as the 25W would not be enough lighting and the 100W would be way too bright. Also the bulbs come in clear and soft white, I prefer the soft white but try them both out and see what you like best for your room.

A: I have 40W LEDs in mine and they work great! I would recommend LEDs because otherwise, the bulbs get HOT.

A: Yes, as long as you don’t exceed 100w most any A19 base light will work.

A: We have 60W bulbs in ours, it provides plenty of light and the base of the bulb is the same size. You can use any lower wattage bulb that fits in the base, you just shouldn't go over the recommended wattage or it probably becomes a safety hazard.

Q:How to make the front flush with surface-mounted cabinet mirror?
I'm replacing a surface mount cabinet with built-in light bar (no longer in style in my price range) due to mirror rot. The new cabinet depth is about 4.5". If I use this light bar above, the globes will set back relative to the mirrors, only hanging over by 1" or so.
Is there a good but easy way to bump this out from the wall so the chrome is flush with my cabinet mirrors? I don't want to have to build a high quality box to mount this on.

Q:How to remove from wall
by|Feb 18, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Hi. I agree it's not obvious how to remove the light bar from the wall, but it is easy. First remove all of the light bulbs from the fixture. Second, remove the trim pieces (chrome usually) that surround each lamp socket. These chrome trim pieces also function as spring clamps that secure the shiny front panel of the light bar to the wall bracket. Once you've removed all of the trim pieces/clamps, then the front panel will come off and allow you access to the wall mounting bracket. The wall bracket is usually held on by screws.

A: Hello Wendi and thank you for your question.
Disconnect the electricity for your safety. Remove the light bulbs, gently pull off the face plate, remove the four (4) screws from the wall, and gently lift off the back plate. There are three (3) wire connectors that should be uninstalled.
The diagram on the first page of the Installation and Safety Instructions will show the layers to be removed: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/a0/a0c7fc75-cce2-43d9-adeb-173b077c2695.pdf
Best wishes on your project.

Q:is there a switch on this unit itself, or do you need to have a switch on the wall near it?
by|Feb 5, 2017

Answer This Question
A: No, there is no switch on the light bar itself. It is meant to be controlled by a wall mounted switch near the entry to the bathroom.
