    A:  The package will include a pin tool to unlock the door from the exterior by entering the long end of the of tool into the pin hole on the exterior lever to release the locking mechanism.           A:  Good question. I don’t think it is meant for exterior use as the lock is different. You may need more secured lock system for your exterior. This one is only good for indoor use. HTH

            A:  The F40 uses the same finish standards as our keyed-entry locks, meaning the F40 can be installed on an exterior door with no issue. However, the F40 can still be locked because it is a privacy lock. For a passage lever that can also be installed on an exterior door, please refer to the F10.               Q:Why is this item no longer available online or in store pickup? Does this product have a defect? I ordered 6 months ago for the whole house and now 2 of them have gone bad and I need to replace.                 Q:I've had several of these locks for about a year and now I'm seeing the lock does not work if you lift the handle up. Is this some kind of feature I don't know about that I accidentially enabled or is it just broken?

                A:  Pretty sure they are designed that way. The one we installed on an exterior door automatically unlocks when we turn the handle to open the door to prevent us from locking ourselves out of the house.
