Q:I was looking to buy this post and add either Large or Extra Large mailboxes. Would they fit and do you have to also purchase the rectangular mounting plates?

We do not have additional mounting plates for this item.

A: No, The post itself is 4X4 so the inside is smaller than a wooden post. The post is also very long. It's made to be buried in 2 to 2 1/2 feet of concrete.

A: Hello. The center post is 3-1/2" W x 81" H. If this post is installed as shown on the installation instructions provided on the link below, a 4x4 is not needed.
