A:  I would call or chat with Safavieh company directly. Other sticky-on-Both-sides rug pads specifically say not to use on wood floors as Will discolor finish. There are other type pads made for wood floors.

A:  Hello. We usually recommend placing a rug pad underneath rugs that do not have a backing because the backing itself might damage the carpet. A:  Hello, Both sides of the rug pad are of the same material. It does not matter which side is touching the rug or the floor. Thank you for choosing The Home Depot.

A:  No, you must peel the plastic sheet from the underside as you unroll the pad onto the wall - to- wall carpeting. Then peel the top plastic sheet (protecting the sticky side) and roll the top carpet on top. I used an old hardwood floor vacuum head to smooth the air bubbles out so the two sticky sides adhered well.

A:  The pad will protect the hardwood floor underneath it as it keeps the rug from moving around which will prevent any scratching.
