A: I would assume so, however it doesn’t offer a ton of padding. Unsure it would fulfill what you are looking for in a hardwood to carpet pad.

A: Hello. We usually recommend placing a rug pad underneath rugs that do not have a backing because the backing itself might damage the carpet. If the rug does have a cotton backing, it would be better than one without. This rug pad should be keep the carpet safe from the rug backing. Thank you for your inquiry.

A: The plastic needs to be removed from both sides to reveal the sticky backing. The pad will not work if you don’t remove the plastic covers.

A: Hello,
Both sides of the rug pad are of the same material. It does not matter which side is touching the rug or the floor.
Thank you for choosing The Home Depot.

A: No, you must peel the plastic sheet from the underside as you unroll the pad onto the wall - to- wall carpeting. Then peel the top plastic sheet (protecting the sticky side) and roll the top carpet on top. I used an old hardwood floor vacuum head to smooth the air bubbles out so the two sticky sides adhered well.
