A:  Hi Moira. While it is possible, we wouldn't recommend it only because depending on the rug pad you're using, it could cause damage to the top of your Karastan rug. Depending on the type of rug, we wouldn't placing a hard or synthetic one on top of another rug just in case it might cause damage. Thank you for your inquiry.

A:  Hi Susan. Yes, wool rugs do tend to shed a lot more than cotton or synthetic rugs. I would not recommend placing this rug in a kitchen as water could possibly harm the cotton backing on the rug. I would recommend placing an indoor/outdoor type of rug for the kitchen to ensure the rugs longevity. Thank you.
