A:  The Rain Bird SST Series cannot be upgraded with the addition of a LNK2 WiFi Module. However, if you're looking for an irrigation controller that is compatible with the LNK2, we recommend the Rain Bird TRU Series. Or, if you'd prefer an irrigation controller with built-in WiFi (i.e., doesn't need a separate module), we recommend the Rain Bird ARC Series. A:  The Rain Bird ESP-8si can accommodate up to eight (8) stations, while the 6-station SST controller can handle up to six (6). Besides differences in zone count, the SST is an upgrade in terms of features and functionality. If you're looking for the latest in irrigation control technology, we would recommend the Rain Bird TRU series or for WiFi out of the box, we'd suggest the ARC series.
