Q:Do these floor vents require a filter?

A:  Nope, These grates are pretty much a open piece of pipe. Most of the filtering comes from your furnace... you did change the furnace filter this month, um year? But seriously, this isn't like your HEPA filter unit and I wouldn't recommend adding one as it may throw off the balance in your heating/cooling system. Consult with your heating professional for options before you make any such modifications.

    A:  No they do not. The system furnace has a filter cartridge for this purpose.
