A: Thank you for reaching out, John. While Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Metallic Paint will no longer give off harmful fumes once it has fully cured after 3 days, it is an oil-based aerosol and will have an odor. Please keep in mind, our spray paints must be applied in a space with proper ventilation and air circulation, such as an open garage or outdoors. This helps prevent lingering odors and will also help ensure proper drying.

Q:Is this safe to use on radiators?
by|Sep 18, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel can handle up to 200°F of indirect heat. If the surface exceeds this, the product will peel/burn off the surface. Radiator can vary, so we recommend using a surface thermometer to see what the range goes to. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 1

Q:I wanna spray paint my old white vinyl sofa, Metallic Silver. Is this a good choice to use?
by|Jun 12, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We’re happy to help, Keem. While Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Metallic Spray Paint can be used on some interior furniture surfaces, we do not recommend it for use on vinyl surfaces. This product is not designed to adhere to vinyl and is not meant to withstand the typical wear of a sofa. The constant flexing of the cushions will also cause the paint to crack and peel.

Q:Can this be used to coat the inside of a water catchment tank? In other words, is it food grade and can it be under water once cured?
by|Jun 11, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Great question! Even after the curing process is complete, Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Metallic Spray Paint is not considered food grade nor is it meant for full underwater immersion. The constant immersion in water will cause the coating to blister and peel.

by|Apr 4, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We appreciate your interest. While Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Metallic Protective Spray Paint can be used on interior surfaces, we do not recommend it for use on a tub drain. The constant immersion and exposure to water and high humidity will cause the coating to blister and peel. At this time, we do not offer a product that can be used to touch-up tub drains.
