Answer This Question
A: We're happy to help, Matt. Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Hammered Paint is a protective enamel. We do not recommend applying directly to plastic, but it can be applied if the surface is first primed using Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer. It can be thinned up to 15% using xylene, and applied using a HVLP sprayer.

Answer This Question
A: Happy to help, Joyce! Once Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Hammered Paint is completely cured, after 7 days in ideal conditions, it is considered inert and any solvents will have dissipated. Please keep in mind, this product will have an indirect heat tolerance of up to 200°F. Exposure to hotter temperatures will cause the paint to blister and peel.
