Q:do you have to pressure wash the old strip before painting

Answer This Question

A:  Great question, Rich! If the previous paint was also Rust-Oleum Professional Inverted Striping Paint and is holding up well and is in sound condition, then an additional coat can be applied on top. You would still prepare the surface in the same way by removing any loose paint, cleaning the surface using commercial detergent, and finally rinsing with water and allowing to dry. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

A:  Great question! As with any coating, the life of Rust-Oleum Professional Striping Paint Spray is dependent on many factors including traffic levels, surface preparation prior to coating, environment, etc. It is difficult to provide an exact length of time because of the subjectivity, but if the surface is prepared well and the product applied properly, you can expect to enjoy the results of your project for years to come (with maintenance applications as needed). - Rust-Oleum Product Support 4
