Q:Can this be used on galvanized steel, like for a tankless water heater exhaust?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Doug, thank you for reaching out! Our Rust-Oleum Automotive Engine Primer is not compatible with galvanized metal. These tankless water heater exhausts typically reach temperatures around 110-170°F, though we do recommend checking the exhaust temperatures with an IR thermometer to be sure. If the temperatures do not exceed 200°F, our Rust-Oleum Universal Bonding Primer spray is an excellent option for priming the exhaust pipes: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Universal-Bonding-Primer-Spray-6-Pack-285011/205926957 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Q:I do not see this item listed for single can purchase. Is it only sold by the case?

Answer This Question
A: Happy to help. The reason online products are sold by the case is for shipping purposes. In many instances, including this one with Rust-Oleum Automotive Engine Primer, items must be shipped by case quantities. For this reason, when purchasing items online, they must be purchased in this way. For individual cans, we recommend visiting your local Home Depot store to see if they have the product in stock. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5
