Q:Can this be put in a roundup pump sprayer and sprayed on a wall?

Answer This Question

A:  Sorry, the answer I got did not answer my question. Yes it would be nice if I had a sprayer that you suggested. That was not my question though. I do not have one. With previous concrete sealers I have used one of those gallon roundup pump sprayers. Is this liquid enough that I can use it in that type sprayer even though it is not the recommended one? Thanks

A:  Happy to help! To apply Rust-Oleum Concrete Sealer, we recommend using a high quality pump sprayer with the tip set to fine mist and apply in a circular or figure eight pattern. Ensure that the sprayer is fully pressurized. To prevent drips and runs, start and stop the sprayer just off the work area. On smaller areas, use a handheld trigger sprayers, paint brushes, rags, sponges, or stipple brushes to apply the stain. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

A:  Great question, Kari! Rust-Oleum Concrete Low Lustre Sealer is a ready-to-use product and we do not recommend adding tint to this product. This product however, can be applied over freshly stained concrete. To help stain the concrete, we recommend Rust-Oleum Semi-Transparent Concrete Stain! https://www.homedepot.com/s/rust%2520oleum%2520concrete%2520stain?NCNI-5 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q:I would be applying this to tiles on the wall that surround my fireplace. I used chalk paint to paint and stencil tiles, and I need a sealer (matte) to apply over the tiles now. Will this work? Is this flammable? And is this okay to use on tiles on the wall. I really only need 1 gallon. Do I have to buy 2? I've attached a photo of the tiles I'll be sealing. This pic is before the stencil went on, but you get the idea of what tiles I need to seal. Thank you

A:  We appreciate your interest, Angie. Rust-Oleum Concrete Sealer is a penetrating water-based sealer designed for use on bare interior and exterior concrete and masonry surfaces. We don't recommend applying it to painted tiles because it will not adhere properly. Instead, we recommend using Rust-Oleum Chalked Protective Topcoat, which can resist temperatures up to 200ºF. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-30-oz-Topcoat-Clear-Ultra-Matte-Interior-Chalked-Paint-287722/205955829 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

            Answer This Question

A:  For the best results, new concrete needs to be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days prior applying Rust-Oleum Concrete Sealer. For the best results, we recommend using a high-quality pump sprayer with the top set to a fine mist. For smaller areas, we recommend a handheld trigger sprayer, paintbrush, rag, sponge, or stipple brush to apply the stain. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q:I'm considering purchasing your clear low luster/matte finish concrete sealer for a combination concrete walkway and driveway, and there is a slight grade to the house. We are in a predominantly damp area (foggy), and I'm concerned about it being slick/slippery when wet. Is this product ok for this use? If this is not good for this application, can you recommend a product that will work and is cost effective? Thx

                Answer This Question

A:  Great question, Ron! Our Matte Clear Concrete Sealer is a penetrating sealer that should not form a film on the concrete walkway or driveway. Since there is no actually coating on top of the concrete, the surface should not become slippery when wet. This sealer is a great choice for both a concrete walkway and driveway.
