A: Thank you for your interest in our products and reaching out! To install the Rubbermaid 32 Gal. Resin Patio Storage Bench there are no tools needed.

A: No tools are needed. Everything sort of snaps into place. I’ve had the bench a while now. In the warm weather I keep my chair cushions in it, inside a big plastic bag. I have to take the cushions inside for winter for the bench is not waterproof. I hope you like your bench as much as I like mine.

A: Instructions should be on side of box. If not, there are several utube sites online to walk you through the assembly.

A: The directions are on the outside of the cardboard box it came in. They are large pictographs -- no words. It just snaps together like a big jigsaw puzzle. No tools needed. If you don't have the box you can go to

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in our products! The Rubbermaid 32 Gal. Resin Patio Storage Bench can be taken apart by using the assembly instructions in reverse. For assistance, please contact the Rubbermaid Consumer Care at 888-895-2110, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.

A: Hi EJ,
I bought mine a few years ago and you should be able to take it apart. You might just need a rubber mallet. In fact I needed one to put it together, but I figure using the mallet to hit it from the inside to pop it out should work. I haven't had to take mine apart but like I said considering how it was put together you should be able to take it apart doing everything in reverse.

Q:Very unhappy you misrepresented the product

Answer This Question
A: My bench is on a patio under the second floor balcony, the floor of which is made of wood planks with spacing that allows water/rain to come through; one of the arm sides has more direct exposure to the elements given the placement of the unit on my patio. It is not out in torrential rains, but I have not had any problem with leaking on the hinge side; water runs off into a channel on the right/left and drains away. Moisture will move down the back inside wall If the seat is lifted while there is still water on it. I did not misrepresent my experience with the product and would have no reason to do so.

A: We have ours for a few years now and it never leaked inside the storage. Maybe something is wrong with yours?

A: I'm not sure why it lists "waterproof" among it's features. The resin pieces themselves are waterproof, but the bench, with the lid on top, allows water in through the crevices.
