            A:  Hi, The weight of 5 lbs. would not be the problem. Assuming that the curtain will be continually oepn and closed throught the day, the friction could be an issue, particularly if using a rod pocket curtain. In general, these rods are intended for rod pocket style stationary panels like ones used in kitchens or bathrooms. Typically a stronger thicker traverse rod is used on patio doors.
