Q:how is the sanding belt changed ?

A:  Pull the grey lever toward you to loosen the sanding belt. Pull the belt toward you. The lower side (left side) has a tight clearance so you should move the belt a little at a time, top to bottom to top or left to right to left. (depending which position the belt is in). Put on the new belt and center it on the rollers. Close the grey lever. Turn on the unit and watch for drift of the belt. If the drift is great, shut off the unit. If it doesn't move you are set. If it moves off center, turn the yellow knob slowly to bring it back to center. That should be it.

A:  There is a lever on the front of the machine that you will pull to the right to loosen the belt. You can then slide the belt off of the pulleys and slip on the new belt. Push the lever back to the left to tighten the new belt and then check the tracking and if it needs adjusting you turn the knob on the front of the sander to keep it tracking properly.

Q:I don't want a low speed grinder that can only sharpen. And, I don't want a high speed that can't. I could spend more and get variable but if I'm going to spend more, why not get a belt/disc sander? That's my dilemma. I have a gift certificate that's burning a hole in my wallet! I wish they made a sander with a grinding wheel rather a disc pad. Do you think I could get high end emery cloyh types belts and discs? That may solve my problem.

A:  Thank you for taking the time to ask additional questions on our product. We do not offer this type of cloth or disc however I researched the product and see that the belt length is 4" x 36" and the disc size if 6". This is the required size and if they can be found you can use this unit to perform the job. Thank you for your time and patience.

A:  Thank you for taking the time to ask additional questions on our product. I would not suggest this model for beveling of knives. This tool will provide a fine finishing edge. Thank you for your time and patience.
